Gameplay delivers a tense 3rd person stealth adventure game where bravery, stealth and cunning will win the day.

On arrival at the prisoner of war camp, circa 1941, you will be introduced to life as a prisoner in Nazi Germany, as well as a variety of interesting characters from around the world. Soon you will be devising a cunning escape plan involving the theft of tools from the Nazis' own living quarters. Of course, it won't be easy. It'll involve scouting the camp while avoiding suspicion, communicating with your fellow prisoners to determine if they have any special skills, as well as gauging your guards and figuring out who to bribe. Along the way, you may pick up some useful intelligence on the Axis that will prove useful to Allied forces, if you can make it out alive.

There are three meticulously modelled, fully 3D, historically realistic prisoner of war camps, including the infamous Colditz Castle. These camps are rich, detail-packed environments, brought to life with outstanding lighting, weather and other graphical effects.

The immersive game world is made vivid by the artificial intelligence of its population. Sophisticated detection, flocking, socialization and other artificial life algorithms work together to create a living, breathing world of distinctively-characterized inmates and guards.

The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian is a hack-and-slash action-adventure on PS2 based on the 2002 blockbuster film, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson himself reprising his role as Mathayus and lending his voice throughout. Rather than retelling the movie beat-for-beat, this serves as an original prequel, giving the developers real freedom to build fresh action sequences and story beats not seen on screen.

The story follows Mathayus training alongside his half-brother Jesup and friend Rama before being sent on an assassination mission that spirals into a much larger conflict involving the god Anubis and the scheming sorcerer Magus. From there, you'll fight your way through 12 distinct environments - including the Island of Crete and the eerie Netherworld - battling everything from rival Akkadian soldiers and elite guards to supernatural threats like anacondas, falcons, and Anubis warriors.

Combat is the clear focus here, blending fast hand-to-hand strikes with weapon-based combos across Mathayus's sword and staff, each upgradeable with multiple power-ups as you progress. If you enjoyed God of War's straightforward, satisfying combo-driven combat, this predates it slightly and offers a lighter, more accessible take on the same sword-and-sandal power fantasy - fewer puzzles, more relentless brawling through hordes of enemies.

The game leans fully into the larger-than-life spectacle of its source material, and having The Rock's actual voice and likeness attached gives it real star power for fans of the film. Shadow of Ganymede is a sci-fi shooter for the PS2, released in 2005 by publisher Phoenix Games and set in the 22nd century, when the outer planets of the Solar System have become centres of mining.

Because these worlds are almost unreachable for humans, the mining rights have been handed to the Automatic Mining System Corporation, whose control centre sits on Jupiter's moon Ganymede. Then, on 20 May 2114, the central AMSC computer stops answering messages from Earth. The next day, a cargo ship arrives in Earth orbit right on schedule, but instead of minerals it carries modified robots that can wipe out the entire Earth orbit patrol in seconds. With the threat of annihilation growing, it's up to you to fight back.

Rogue Ops is a third-person stealth action game starring ex-Green Beret Nikki Connors, a hero on a mission of personal revenge. If you enjoy the sneaking and silent takedowns of Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid, with a dash of Tomb Raider-style acrobatics, this offers a fun, action-packed alternative.

Nikki is trying to settle into a normal life when the terrorist group Omega 19 takes her husband and child from her in a bomb attack. With the help of her unit commander, Jonah, she goes back into action and works through eight missions to infiltrate Omega 19 and stop its plans. Stealth is the key: you can hide in the shadows from patrolling guards, pick their pockets for security cards and take them out with silent attacks. Once a guard is down, you can pick up the body and hide it so nobody raises the alarm, and you can even stash enemies in lockers, closets and crates.

There are ten weapons to use, including pistols, dart guns, mines, grenades and sniper rifles, along with gadgets such as infrared and x-ray goggles. Pulling off a stealth kill takes some effort, and good stealth play is rewarded with bonuses such as ammo and health. A context-sensitive icon system shows you everything Nikki can interact with, and the dual-stick controls are explained by a handy tutorial.

'Psi-Ops sets itself apart incredibly well with its series of well-implemented psychic abilities. 8.4/10' - Gamespot

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is set in a near-future environment dominated by technology and order and challenges players to use their most powerful weapon - their mind - as they try to master the first action/stealth game to integrate traditional weapons combat with extensive Psi (psychic) mind powers. Combating a terrorist movement set to overthrow world order, Nick Geller - an elite American Psi-Operative - fights using telekinesis (lifting and throwing people and objects), pyrokinesis (controlling fire and throwing fire walls), remote viewing (going 'out-of-body' to plan attacks), mind drain (draining Psi energy from enemies), aura view ('seeing' elements that aren't visible in the real world) and mind control (taking control of enemies) to fight against an army of programmed, psychic terrorist super soldiers that will stop at nothing to reach their goal.

The only way for Scryer to stop The Movement and its Psi agents is to use his psionic powers and beat them at their own 'mind game.' In addition to Psi capabilities, players have access to traditional weapons such as handguns and automatic weaponry. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy features a non-linear, open-ended game design, challenging players to use different powers and tactics to complete a specific task. During the action-packed gameplay, players will encounter enemies with sophisticated AI, forcing them to utilize their Psionic abilities in a strategic manner.

Only as Scryer's mysterious past is unveiled, including his connection to The Movement's leader, does he begin to realize the potential of his awakening psionic abilities.

 A genuinely underrated action game well worth revisiting today.

G-Force is a fast-paced action-platformer based on the Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer film, where an elite team of trained guinea pig secret agents takes on an army of evil household appliances. If you've enjoyed the gadget-fuelled fun of Ratchet & Clank, this has a similar mix of platforming, puzzles and inventive weapons, shrunk down to guinea pig size.

You take control of two heroes: Darwin, the G-Force team leader, and Mooch, his housefly surveillance sidekick. Each has special abilities. Dead to Rights is a gritty, story-driven third-person shooter that mixes slow-motion gunplay with Hong Kong-style action. If you enjoyed the bullet-time dives of Max Payne or the tense action of Syphon Filter, this has that same cinematic feel, with a K-9 partner added to the mix.

You play as Jack Slate, a Grant City cop who finds himself framed for murder and sets out through a series of gritty urban locations to uncover the people responsible. The story unfolds across around twenty levels, and the real star of the show is Jack's loyal dog, Shadow, who can attack enemies and fetch their weapons for you. In some sections you even get to take control of Shadow yourself. An adrenaline meter lets Jack throw himself into slow-motion dives and evasive moves, and the aiming is straightforward, with the closest enemy locked on when you hold the button.

Up close, Jack is a martial arts expert who can disarm his enemies, snatching their weapons with a dramatic flourish, and he can grab an enemy to use as a human shield. Wall-hugging lets you spin around and take down foes, mini-games break up the action every few levels, and boss fights put your moves to the test. The mix of shooting, melee, stunts and a faithful canine sidekick gives the game a personality all its own.

Whiplash is one of the most hilariously absurd and inventive action-platformers on PS2, built around a concept so brilliantly ridiculous it immediately sets it apart from every other game on the platform. You play as Spanx, a twitchy, bug-eyed weasel chained by a two-foot length of chain to Redmond - a hapless, indestructible white rabbit - and your mission is to escape the evil Genron Corporation's animal testing facility while causing as much spectacular damage as possible along the way.

The chain mechanic is the heart of everything - Spanx swings Redmond like a medieval flail to batter security guards, scientists, and anything else that gets in the way. Along the way, you can dip Redmond into barrels of chemicals - electricity, fire, nitrogen, helium, and more - transforming him into a supercharged weapon with devastating new effects. The whole experience plays out with a wickedly irreverent sense of humour reminiscent of Monty Python, and the opening intro alone is so funny that fans report watching it repeatedly just to show friends.

The destruction system is a standout feature - almost everything in the Genron Corporation's lavish facilities can be smashed, broken, and destroyed, with a live ticker tracking the corporation's total asset value dropping in real time as you cause mayhem. Every lamp, computer console, product display, and piece of furniture is fair game, giving the destruction genuine purpose beyond simple chaos. Freeing caged animals and convincing them to join a rebel army led by a pink slug called the Master gives the adventure a charmingly absurd narrative thread.

For players who enjoy anarchic humour and chaotic destruction, Whiplash is a genuinely entertaining and unique hidden gem.

Welcome to the whimsical world of Sitting Ducks, where life is good, food's a plenty, and alligators are lurking in neighbouring Swampwood. One bird stands out amongst the flock – Bill. Well-liked, but seldom understood, Bill waddles to a different beat. He is a quirky, smaller than average duck with a big imagination and a secret fun loving side. Bill’s best friend is Aldo, from the neighbouring town of Swampwood. A big lumbering bull-in-a-china-shop alligator, chock-full of rough edges. Aldo is also a tough guy with a soft centre. This unlikely friendship between these two creatures on opposite ends of the food chain sets the scene for unique challenges... and a lot of fun.

Sometimes it’s hard to be a pig. Trotters don’t look like much fun, for one. Curly tail? Seems a bit pointless. And all that rolling around in dirt… well, they do that for fun. Whatever floats their little pink boats.

The problem in Charlotte’s Web, however, is that when you’re a pig, everyone wants your bacon; the seemingly friendly family who adopted you as a pet included. Thankfully, there’s a canny little spider named Charlotte on hand to help. Such is the premise of the classic book, the live action film, and now the game adaptation.

Charlotte has a plan to help: she’s going to send creepy messages to the outside world through the sterling piece of communications technology that is her web. She can’t do it alone, however. Playing as either Wilbur (the threatened pig in question) or Templeton the rat, gamers must leap their way through this platformer to gather words and help Charlotte to save your bacon.

There are four worlds for you to explore: Zuckerman’s Barn, a Junkyard, the Countryside and the County Fair. As you make your way through them (trying to not get turned into pork) you’ll come across numerous characters from the film including Charlotte (if you hadn’t guessed) and the careless Gussy the goose, who’s misplaced her goslings and needs your help finding them.
