Army Men: Air Attack - Blade's Revenge is the PS2 evolution of one of the best-received corners of the Army Men franchise, taking the same helicopter combat formula EA popularised with its Strike series and giving it the toybox charm the Army Men brand is known for. Widely praised at the time as one of the stronger entries in the whole series, this scored a genuinely solid 75 on Metacritic.

Plastro, the villainous leader of the Tan Army, has teamed up with the sinister Baron Von Beige to set a trap for Captain Blade, and it falls to the Alpha Wolf Squadron to fly headlong into 20 action-packed levels spread across more than 10 fully interactive plastic-scale environments - backyards, picnic areas, and beaches all rendered at giant-toy scale, with butterflies and battleships alike as legitimate targets.

Five toy helicopters are available, each with genuinely distinct physics and an upgraded winch utility for grabbing objects, dropping crates on enemies, and completing objective-based missions rather than simple point-and-shoot combat. A new plastic collection system lets you unlock hidden vehicles and additional weaponry as you progress, giving the campaign a satisfying sense of growth across its increasingly chaotic later stages.

Co-op play is a real highlight here - up to two players can team up locally, and two-player split-screen competitive modes across six purpose-built multiplayer environments make this a genuinely fun pick for group sessions, closer in spirit to a lighthearted arcade shooter than a serious flight sim. If you enjoyed the tactical, top-down destruction of EA's Strike series but want something sillier and more family-friendly, this delivers that same satisfying formula with real charm.
