The atmosphere is thick, brooding, and utterly captivating throughout.

What makes Arkham Asylum truly great is how perfectly every element comes together. The freeflow combat system is deceptively simple to pick up but endlessly satisfying to master - stringing together counters, takedowns, and gadget attacks feels exactly like being the Dark Knight. Stealth sections challenge you to think tactically, using gargoyles, grapple hooks, and the environment to silently pick off armed enemies one by one. Detective Mode lets you scan crime scenes, track enemies through walls, and solve environmental puzzles, making you feel like the World's Greatest Detective as much as a fighter.
