Corsairs for the PC is an adventure/strategy game, set among the world of pirates in early 1700. Players can sail, trade, spy, and engage in warfare, as they attempt to become the most feared pirate of the seas. At the outset you control a single pirate ship and the aim of the game is to build up a fleet and a network of ports and to gather treasure.

Older gamers surely remember Pirates, a great game by Microprose, and its extended version, Pirates GOLD. The players could assume the role of adventurers on uneasy waters of Caribbean Sea. We pillaged cities, fought other ships, traded goods, searched for treasure, and enlisted with one of four superpowers of the 18th century.
Many years later, Microids decided to use that story to create a completely new game. In Corsairs, apart from the abovementioned activities, the players gets many new possibilities, such as diplomatic and espionage operations or expanding conquered cities. The area of our action was also greatly extended; in this game, it covers the entire world.

I bought this game to play with my seven year old son and we both enjoy it. The gameplay is pretty simple; you can be up and rolling in about twenty minutes. Yeah, it's older now, but it is still fun. It's true that there are a LOT of missions if you choose to play for all of the sides: England, France, Spain etc. So, considering the very reasonable price, you really can't go wrong if you are looking for a fun, simple, pirate-style computer game. I recommend it without reservation.

The game features 50 unique missions set throughout the world, and accurate replicas of real-life sea vessels.
