Crackdown 3 is a feast of gloriously wanton action and destruction, served up with a dirty grin on its face.

The set up is this: in the near-ish future the island 'paradise' of New Providence is a hellhole of towering buildings and electric vehicles in the grip of gangsters, corporate psychopaths and butchers. It's home to the highly secretive and most certainly nefarious TerraNova Worldwide. Clustered around a mysteriously-reignited volcano, these ne'er-do-wells are exploiting every resource - material and human - on the island. It's up to you to loosen their grip and, ideally, break their fingers while you're at it.

As with previous games, Crackdown 3 offers a huge open world for you to destroy at your liberty. Having super powers and super weapons that you can constantly upgrade helps, of course. Whether you're targeting your enemies with insane energy weapons or the corpses of their fallen comrades, the emphasis is squarely on having a fun old time and getting wild.

You can play the game solo or in co-op, or you can take the fight to other players with some intense multiplayer action. It's your fight to tackle as you choose, just make sure you make a mess!
