Fireblade - PS2 Game

Fireblade is a fast-paced arcade helicopter combat game on PS2 that puts you in the cockpit of one of the most powerful prototype attack helicopters ever built. If you love the idea of raining missiles and machine gun fire down on enemy targets across exotic global locations, this delivers that experience with satisfying intensity and a surprising amount of variety.

The story drops you into a world under threat from a dangerous terrorist organisation, and as the specially selected pilot of the prototype Fireblade helicopter, you are the world's last line of defence. The campaign unfolds across 18 missions split into four distinct campaigns, sending you to dramatically varied locations including the Arctic Circle, South American deserts, and beyond. Objectives keep things interesting throughout - rather than simply blasting everything in sight, missions challenge you to protect bases, escort vehicles, perform surgical strikes, and eliminate specific high-value targets under time pressure.

What sets Fireblade apart from other helicopter shooters is its range of tactical options. A stealth cloaking mode lets you hover silently through hostile areas and pick off enemy troops with precision before chaos erupts. First-person sniping sequences add a completely different dimension to the gameplay, while the arsenal of hi-tech weapons - including swarmer missiles, electromagnetic pulse rifles, and standard heavy armaments - gives you plenty of tools to tackle each situation your own way. Two distinct helicopters are available across the campaign, each handling the carnage slightly differently.

Fans of old-school arcade shooters and helicopter combat games will find Fireblade an enjoyable and satisfying romp - an unpretentious blast of action that delivers plenty of explosive entertainment from start to finish.
