Exclusively for the PLAYSTATION 3 comes a new dark adventure full of wonder and mystery. Two strangers are drawn to the mysterious town of Doolin, where it is said that the living can speak to the dead. They soon learn the town serves as a gateway to fantastic worlds that exists beyond our own, realms full of creatures, fairies, spirits and monsters. In order to solve the mystery of the dark, foreboding lighthouse that stands at the towns edge, the pair must journey through these worlds to discover their secrets. The key to progressing in the game is to capture the various Folks - the nightmarish creatures that inhabit the Netherworld - harnessing and combining their powers to defeat strong enemies.

Folklore is an action game with some RPG-style customizability. In the course of the game, they travel to the netherworld and encounter faeries and monsters, or "Folk." In battle, Ellen and Keats can absorb Folks' ids and gain new abilities for use in battle. Four folks can be mapped to controller buttons, making the play fast-paced like an action game, with a degree of customization. There are seven realms, all based on different notions of what the afterlife might be like.
