There's a bloody civil war raging, and you're right in the eye of the storm. From the cockpit of your Corvette class vehicle, you'll decide exactly which resources you need to use for each battle, and then jump into combat. The struggle is against a rebellious bunch called the "Indies," and they'll stop at nothing to destroy your ship and conquer the universe. A realistic physics model makes for extremely interesting flight, and the awesome, 3D graphics truly deliver the excitement to your PC.

Independence War is a starship simulator set in the year 2268. As commander of a 160-meter Dreadnought-class Corvette, you must engage a human resistance force of alleged pirates and terrorists on behalf of Earth's Commonwealth Navy. Featuring over 40 missions across three CD-ROMs, Independence War features strategic combat that involves the careful oversight of multiple ship systems. Your 8,520-ton vessel soars through 3D space while adhering to a physics-based flight model, and orders can be issued from the ship's four bridges: command, weapons, navigation, and engineering. The starship will gradually be updated with new weapons and technology as the storyline progresses.

Throughout the game's many levels, the player will need quick reflexes, a sharp eye, and strategic thinking to master the intricacies of piloting to defeat the enemy.
