The story drops you on Enoch - a planet humanity fled to after destroying Earth - as one of the last survivors of a mysterious energy storm called the Anomaly. Rather than killing you, the storm grants you devastating supernatural powers, transforming you into an Outrider - a superhuman soldier with abilities far beyond any ordinary fighter. Choose from four distinct classes, each with their own playstyle and power fantasy - the Pyromancer conjures fire, the Technomancer deploys turrets and toxic artillery, the Devastator manipulates gravity and stone, and the Trickster bends time and space. Each class regenerates health through its own unique method mid-combat, pushing you to play aggressively and stay in the thick of the action rather than hiding behind cover.

The loot system is one of Outriders' strongest points - weapons and armour drop frequently, mods can be extracted and transferred between items, and a crafting system gives you meaningful control over your build without excessive grinding. A 15-tier World Tier difficulty system scales enemy challenge and loot quality, rewarding players who push themselves harder. The 30-40 hour campaign is notably substantial for the genre, and end-game Expedition missions provide a rewarding post-story challenge.

Crucially, Outriders launched as a complete, non-live service game with no season passes or battle passes - all content is right there in the box from day one.

Personally, I thoroughly loved playing this game with friends.
