Shadow Tactics - PS4 Game

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun brings the beloved Commandos-style real-time tactics genre back to life, transplanting it into the stunning backdrop of Japan's Edo period. Set against towering castles, serene snowscapes, and lush bamboo forests, this is widely regarded as one of the finest stealth-strategy games ever made, and the PS4 port delivers that experience beautifully.

You command a band of five distinct assassins working in service of the Shogun, each bringing their own unique skills to every mission. Mugen is a stoic, blade-wielding samurai capable of cutting down multiple foes at once, Hayato is a master of stealth and traps, Yuki is a nimble thief skilled in distraction, Aiko disguises herself to manipulate enemies, and Takuma is a patient sniper who can pick off targets from a distance. Combining their abilities to lure, distract, and silently dispatch waves of guards is where the real satisfaction lies, and the Shadow Mode mechanic lets you queue up synchronised, simultaneous takedowns across your entire squad for genuinely thrilling moments of perfectly executed chaos.

Missions are large, open, and packed with multiple solutions - sneak past entirely, eliminate guards one by one, or cause loud, decisive carnage depending on your preferred style. Environmental details like footprints in snow or flickering torchlight constantly shift the rules of engagement, keeping each of the game's twenty-plus hours feeling fresh. A generous quick-save system softens the blow of the game's demanding, trial-and-error difficulty, letting you experiment freely without major setbacks.

The five playable characters share genuinely likeable chemistry throughout their journey. For fans of stealth and tactics games, Shadow Tactics is a must-play - a true successor to the classics that inspired it.
