Based on the 3D coin-on arcade title of the same name, SpikeOut: Battle Street offers a quick single-player mode that's about two to four hours long and each time it's beaten a new character, with slightly different special attacks, opens up. There are around 10 levels, and 12 unlockable characters, and a multiplayer mode. The arcade hit is updated with new moves, new characters and an all-new storyline, as Spike's kid grows up and tries to take down his father's gang enemies.

An old turf war between two rival gangs - Team Spike and Team Inferno - has erupted again, 10 years after the blood dried on their first encounter. Spike Jr, leader of Team Spike, has decided to mete out a bit of hurt to his father's nemesis, Mike, who still heads up Team Inferno.

A vast destructible 3D landscape, Xbox Live, a huge range of downloadable extras and a raft of different characters all itching to put the boot in - it looks like the brawler the Xbox has been waiting for.
