The Thing picks up where the film left off centering on the military investigation of enigmatic deaths of an American scientific team in the frozen wastelands of the Antarctic. Within these inhospitable surroundings your team encounters a strange shape-shifting alien life-form that assumes the appearance of people that it kills.

Based on the same elements that made the movie so enjoyable - fear, suspense, and the possibility that your teammate may have just been infected - The Thing lets players slowly creep into the action with the help of several non-player characters who can be controlled and used to protect and aid you and your team. Using a core team of engineers, medics, and soldiers, you must manage and control their level of trust in, and fear of, you. They react to your actions, and might betray you, if they think you might be the Thing. Conversely, you must constantly monitor which one of them might be infected, and dispose of them. They must trust you, but if they fear you, actions as drastic as coercion might be necessary.

The Thing delivers a new gaming experience blending player controlled, squad-based action and horror elements for the first time. Through the use of an innovative Trust Fear NPC management system, the player must monitor and influence his fellow NPC squad members psychological state throughout the game. Using all your team members is critical if you hope to accomplish objectives, let alone survive. Now if you only knew which ones were still human...

The game brings fear and suspense to unimaginable levels, with a compelling plot and unique gameplay elements based upon action, evasion, trust and fear.
