Theocracy is a real-time strategy game, in which you take control of one of the Aztec tribes, develop the tribe to its ultimate destiny, and resist the Spanish conquistadors. But before this final fight you will have to establish trade routes between you and your neighboring states, develop diplomatic relations between you and the others provinces, conquer new territories and develop your economy and your empire. After one century, you will have to resist the fierce assault of the Spanish. 400 years of history are in the balance: history is in your hands.

A gamers review:
This has to be one of the most under-rated games ever! Combining the micro-management of Settlers with the combat strategy style of Command & Conquer type games and placing it in a different historical period from normal games is no mean achievement. This is the game that Age of Empires (a great game itself) should have been, the inclusion of fighting in formation is a great step forward in gaming of this style and the added fantasy element of magic spells only adds to the experience. Although difficult to get into, the learning curve is quite steep, perseverance pays dividends in a rich and engrossing test of mind. Theocracy is well worth the time and patience needed for a good strategy game.
