Traitor's Gate is a graphical adventure game based on burglary. You need to learn security-code deciphering, computer hacking and how to pick locks. You are hired by the Pentagon to steal the British Crown Jewels. The pentagon is aware of a defector who plans to steal their jewels as well. Britain is not briefed of your mission: You may neither be discovered nor harm any guards. Time is of the essence, and special spy gadgets are at your disposal to get the job done quietly. The game takes place in the Tower of London, replicated down to the finest details, and presented to the player using QuicktimeVR technology.

Plots are as important to adventure games as puzzles are, and they don't come much more imaginative than Traitors Gate. You play Agent Raven, whose mission is to break into the UK's greatest symbol of security, the Tower of London. Once in, you then have to replace the Crown Jewels with fakes to thwart an international jewel thief who is planning to break into the tower.
DayDream software have managed to cram a high level of detail into their virtual Tower--more than 5,000 reference photos were taken--and the results of this is that the playing area is vast. Everything about the Tower has been captured making the game atmospheric and intriguing whilst at the same time evolving to create puzzles that are non-linear.
