It's not just racing. It's a driving simulation so advanced and authentic it'll drive you mad.

The one thing that's definitely unique in this game is the gameplay. It's very addictive. You are not actually racing against the other cars on the course, but instead you are trying to beat lap times of cars which previously ran the course (or so the manual says). Instead of trying to beat you while racing, devious computer-controlled AI cars are hell-bent on running you off the road or forcing you into other cars. This can be both frustrating and challenging, but it provides an element which neither GT nor RR offers.

The other major feature of the game is Stunt Driver mode, which consists of a series of timed challenges like jumps and slalom courses. The faster you complete each challenge, the more stunt points you receive to go towards unlocking additional stunts. Single Race and Time Trial modes are also available.

The only initially playable two-player mode is Single Race, but two additional challenges called Balloon Buster and Chicken can be unlocked. Balloon Buster has you racing on a track filled with coloured balloons. Popping balloons of your colour subtracts a second from your time, while popping an opponent's adds two seconds. Chicken pits two racers on a track going in opposite directions.
