Real-time strategy game set in the complex, fantasy universe of Warhammer 40K (developed as a board-based war game). The game is premised on a conflict between an alliance of humans, dwarves and elves and a group of undead invaders. The campaign offers a series of increasingly challenging battles interspersed with good cutscenes that advance the story. The gameplay consists of tactical combat, before each battle you must deploy your units and then you control them in-mission. Losses sustained in battles cannot be replaced so you must manage these carefully. The control system is effective. The game is played on an isometrically-viewed landscape and the graphics are good.

This sequel to Warhammer: Shadow Of The Horned Rat is an overhead role playing game in which you play Morgan Bernhardt. You go through the game managing your army, deciding whether to fight in optional battles, and advancing through a deep and engrossing storyline via a series of conversations played out by talking portraits.
