The story weaves themes of family, sacrifice, and loyalty into a gripping thirteen chapter drama that Push Square called "a tale that blows most games out of the water."

The Dragon Engine transforms the experience with seamless transitions into combat - no loading screens, no cutaways, just instant brawling that erupts naturally from the living world around you. Combat is streamlined for large group battles, with powerful Heat Actions and a brutal super mode letting you weaponise the entire environment against waves of enemies. Mission objectives, upgrades, and EXP are all managed conveniently through Kiryu's smartphone, modernising the experience considerably. The arcades now house full playable versions of Virtua Fighter 5 and Puyo Puyo, and side activities spanning karaoke, a cat cafe, clan battles, and bizarre substories ensure there's always something extraordinary around every corner.
