Deadlock may take place on the distant planet of Gallius IV, but its inhabitants and economic forces behave much as they would on Earth. Where else would colonists demand education, culture and low taxes in exchange for productivity and model citizenship? The basic gameplay will be familiar to anyone who's ever played a simulation game such as SimCity or Civilization. Deadlock takes the city's development concept and transports it into outer space. And with that new location comes the ability to throw in several variables, such as seven different races of beings, each with its own strengths and weaknesses.
