As in the original, players fly around on the eponymous rug, fighting creatures and other wizards using an arsenal of spells. The structure of the game, however, has been drastically revamped. In Magic Carpet, the player's only goal was to fly around the world collecting 'mana,' a magical element released when the creatures of the land were destroyed. Once enough mana had been gathered, the player could proceed to the next level. Magic Carpet II eliminates the redundancy of this single-goal scenario, and relies on objective-based levels instead. These objectives range from the simple-say, flying to a particular point-to the challenging, where you are called upon to destroy an entire race of creatures. And there are plenty of new creatures to destroy, as well as new spells to destroy them with. Even better, Magic Carpet II's new experienced-based system makes spells gain effectiveness as players become more proficient. The flight engine and the graphics have also been improved, speeding up the action and making it better looking.

You are looking at computer game Heavy Metal: FAKK 2.

Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 is a Third Person Action/Adventure, based on the Heavy Metal franchise (the comic books, movie, cartoon, etc).

The story takes place some years after the most recent movie, and basically involves big bad aliens threatening the planet of Eden, the home of Julie (aka F.A.K.K. 2) and other people rescued in the aforementioned movie. So Julie, being the heroine she is, sets out to stop invasion and send the baddies packing.

To accomplish this you get to use weapons ranging from many types of swords (fire, electrical, chainsaw, etc) to a rocket launcher to guns like a pistol, uzi, and shotgun. There are even a few shields and some armour. The game has both left and right handed attacks, so you can hold a firesword in one hand, for example, and an uzi in the other. This also allows for special combo moves which are used to kill powerful monsters quicker.

You have health to watch, of course, but there is also Eden water. It not only provides some protection, depending on how much you have, but also allows Julie to run faster, jump farthur, and jump higher. Eden water is also needed to power some weapons. The more of it you have, the better.

Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 is powered by the Quake III engine.

Only a story straight from the pages of Heavy Metal Magazine could give you the goods that F.A.K.K. 2 will deliver.
