Atari Anthology - PS2 Game

You are looking at Play Station 2 game Atari Anthology

Atari Anthology is a huge nostalgia trip: 85 classic Atari games on a single disc, covering the arcade era and the Atari 2600 years. If you've enjoyed Namco Museum or Activision Anthology on PS2, this is the Atari equivalent, and it's a brilliant way to see where modern gaming began.

The collection includes 18 arcade classics such as Asteroids, Battlezone, Missile Command, Tempest, Centipede and Pong, plus 62 Atari 2600 favourites including Gravitar, Millipede, Super Breakout, Yars' Revenge and Warlords. Five bonus titles round things out, and the mix of action, sports, racing, space, casino and mind games means there's something for every mood. Many games let you change how you play, with options like different speeds, time limits and shifting colour palettes, and some of these modes are unlocked by hitting goals in other games, which gives you extra reasons to keep going back.

The history is a big part of the appeal. The disc includes scans of the original Atari 2600 instruction manuals, original arcade artwork and video interviews with Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell, so you get a real look at how these games came to be. With easy pick-up-and-play controls and the all-important chase for a high score, it's equally fun for players who grew up with these games and newcomers meeting them for the first time.

Features:

• 85 classic Atari games on one disc
• 18 arcade classics, 62 Atari 2600 games and 5 bonus titles
• Alternate play modes with different speeds, time limits and colour palettes
• Scans of original 2600 manuals and arcade artwork
• Video interviews with Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell
• Local multiplayer on many titles, including Warlords and Combat (player counts vary by game)

A fantastic pick for retro fans and anyone who wants to revisit gaming's golden age.
