NFL QUARTERBACK CLUB ’97 uses gameplay elements like the kicking T-meter, the three-quarter overhead camera angle, and the button assignments and controls you've grown accustomed to with other football titles. The player animations are smooth and very real looking, and the large player sprites are easily identified by the names and numbers on their jerseys. A unique feature is the Custom Simulation mode, where you can create and save up to five game situations, for those times when you can’t finish a game at that moment. As an added bonus, cover boy Brett Favre has designed his own special plays that you can use in the game. You can also take on a friend in the Multiplayer mode to prove your gridiron superiority.
The game also boasts a historic simulation mode. Players can choose among 50 different classic NFL game situations and try to rewrite history. Imagine...it's December 23, 1973. The Dallas Cowboys are down 28-13 to the 49ers. With under a minute remaining, the Boys score a touchdown and recover an onside kick. Can you complete one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history?
