Xtreme Legends is a stand-alone expansion for Samurai Warriors, an action adventure title in the same family as the Dynasty Warriors series. Samurai Warriors: Xtreme Legends introduces new characters to the franchise and elaborates and expands on the story of the original Samurai Warriors. Players will find new weapons and an array of fresh items and fighting techniques. The expansion will also bring back the original game's character growth system, enabling the creation of beefed-up characters. There are also all-new scenarios, new characters and even a historical reference guide. Gameplay upgrades include adjustments to game balance and the aforementioned more robust character development system.

Samurai Warriors: Xtreme Legends lets you rewrite history at the point of sword! When the Shogunate fell in 1467, Japan erupted into the "Sengoku Jidai" - the Warring States Period. In this time, Sanada Yukimura leads a band of ninja and samurai. Travel to the deadliest battlefields of the time and lead your soldiers as they forge a new destiny for Japan.
