Zapper: One Wicked Cricket is a colourful, fast-moving 3D platformer from Blitz Games, the team behind Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge. It's built on the same hop-dodge-and-time-it formula but adds a lot more attitude and adventure. If you enjoyed the quick-reflex fun of Frogger or the collect-and-explore spirit of early Crash Bandicoot, Zapper has a similar feel with a cheeky character of its own.

You play as Zapper, a spirited yellow cricket whose baby brother Zipper has been kidnapped by Maggie, the scheming Magpie Queen. She's left a trail of eggs behind her that will hatch into dangerous baby magpies, so you'll need to hop, dodge and time every move to track them down and destroy them first. Your secret weapon is the zap, an electric charge fired from Zapper's antennae that stuns or eliminates enemies and unlocks treasures and power-ups along the way.

Across 18 levels you'll travel from Zapper's own garden home to ghost towns and finally Maggie's nuclear power plant lair for the big showdown. The controls ease you in gently, and the levels grow more inventive as you go. Hidden areas and bonus levels reward curious players, and the bright, chunky 3D worlds and catchy soundtrack keep every session lively.
