Outlaw Racer is a racing game that features three novel features: a randomly generated city each time you race, law enforcement that includes police cars AND traffic cameras, and finally, a "persistent" universe where you race other cars for money and bragging rights. However, the game can be boiled down to a simple "checkpoint" racing, albeit a more of a "city rally".

A typical race has multiple checkpoints (flags) where you can pass through for money and win. When all the flags are claimed the race is over. However, the order in which you get those flags is completely up to you. Go for the closest and fight your competitors? Go for the farthest ones and try to clean up the other flags while your competitors fight over the nearest ones?

The race is further complicated by the police, who will chase you. If they stop you, you're fined for all the tickets. The city also has traffic cameras that records offences such as red light violations, driving on wrong side of road, and so on. Fines are automatically taken out of your "budget". If you no longer have a budget (i.e. lost all the money), you go to jail and race is over. You win more money by reaching flags first, or by bumping the cash trucks. There's also civilian vehicles, and 5 gray "armoured cars" that will bump you off the road.

As the city is randomly generated, the flags are never in the same place, and with 3 other opponents you can never predict who'll do what. This makes for an interesting race.

The cars can also be upgraded with better tires, better engine, or just plain better cars, albeit with very simple upgrades. You can also repaint the car and/or add special decals (user bitmap is allowed).

No Driving-Sim is quite like Outlaw Racers. For the first time you can race your car around city streets and highways without being confined to a specific route or track.

The new speedster in EA's successful series combines the tuner customization of Need for Speed Underground with an expanded take on the police chases of the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit series. The game will feature a Rap Sheet option that works hand in hand with a player's street reputation as they move up from the 'Black List' to the A-List. Users will also be able to go head-to-head with their opponents while simultaneously trying to avoid more than six different police cars at once through a dynamically changing open-ended world. Get your car peaked for outrunning the cops by customizing your muscle cars, supercars, tuners, and sports cars.

The player must gain notoriety by racing in the streets and attracting the attention of the cops in order to ascend in the Black List of illegal racers. In the end he must face no.1, Razor who tricked him out of his own car and used it to get to the top.

Many racing modes are carried on from NFSU2 with the addition of 'Milestones', special events where the driver must evade capture and/or disable police cars by bringing down Pursuit Breakers, specially marked buildings such as gas stations and water towers. For each one of the 15 Blacklisted opponents, the player must win a specific number of events from each of the two main types and gain enough notoriety in the process. The player can invest bet money to buy new cars or improve his existing one's looks and performance so that he remains competitive.

All that counts is the amount of damage you inflict and organs you liberate on the way.

Take the wheel and waste contestants, pedestrians and farmyard animals for points and credit. You must maim, kill and cheat your way to the top ranking. Customise you car for a better performance with parts stolen from your victims and smash 'n' trash your way to the top. Earn extra points and time for imaginative and humorous pedestrian pulping and opponent bashing - wimps are not rewarded. The aim of the game (other than to enjoy yourself and cause as much death and destruction as possible) is to increase your rank, starting out at 99 and hopefully ending up as number 1, by earning credits. Kill all the pedestrians and earn a juicy bonus. The higher the rank the more choice of races you have to enter and the more cars you get your hands on.

Armour up in the parts shop and spend credit to enable you to inflict maximum damage on your opponents, steal cars you have smashed during the race and use them in the next race. Need 4 Speed games always took a slight step into sequels, but this time it's like a totally new dimension of playing. Need for Speed: High Stakes features 19 high-performance sports cars to collect and customize. Play modes include Test Drive, Single Race, Special Events, Hot Pursuit, and High Stakes. You begin with 20,000 credits and will initially be able to access three fictitious tracks in Germany, France, and Canada. To unlock more tracks and vehicles, you must place within the top three of each race in a total of six tournaments.

Need for Speed: High Stakes includes visible car damage that affects how your vehicle performs during a race. Hot Pursuit mode picks up where 1998's game left off, only this time you can play as the police and chase a series of speed-violators within a time limit. For every lawbreaker you nab, more seconds will be added to the clock. Special Events is a series of eight races, while Test Drive is a practice run to familiarize yourself with each available course.

High Stakes mode lets you prove your driving prowess against a second player with your car on the line. The catch?
